Unit 1- Listening Exam (worth 20% of the final GCSE grade):
This tiered (Foundation or Higher) exam will be sat in school in the summer examination period in Year 11.

Unit 2 – Reading Exam(worth 20% of the final GCSE grade):
This tiered (Foundation or Higher) exam will be sat in school in the summer examination period in Year 11.

Unit 3 – Speaking Assessment (worth 30% of the final GCSE grade):
All assessments will be completed in class using exercise books, textbooks and dictionaries over two years. The students will be given the task 2 weeks in advance (minimum) to prepare the answers. All assessments must be at least 4 to 6 minutes long and must be learnt off by heart. From your portfolio, your teacher will select the two best pieces of speaking assessments.

Unit 4 – Written Assessment (worth 30% of the final GCSE grade):
All assessments will be completed in class using exercise books, textbooks and dictionaries over two years. The students will be given the task 2 weeks in advance (minimum) to prepare the answers. Each written assessment must be at least 200 words long and must be learnt off by heart. From your portfolio, your teacher will select the two best pieces of written assessments.
