We run a timetable with 30 periods per week. Each period is 50 minutes in length. For some subjects, particularly practical ones such as PE and Design and Technology, double periods are used.
Students join the school in Year 9. Year 9 marks the transition from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4. During the Spring term students make their GCSE and BTEC choices. The Year 9 curriculum is personalised to ensure that students are well placed to be successful in Year 10 and 11.
All students will study a core comprising:
English Language, English Literature, Maths, Science, PE, Religious Studies, History and Geography.
Most students will study:
French or Spanish, Computing, Technology and the Arts, and Music.

Students in the sixth form will typically choose either 3 A-Levels or one BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma. Detailed information about the courses offered can be found on the Sixth Form web site.
