During the financial year 2014 – 2015 we received £97,240 of Pupil Premium funding from the Department for Education. The Pupil Premium (PP) Funding is allocated to children in Year 9 through to Year 11 from low-income families who are on the Ever 6 Free School Meals (FSM) register and children who have been ‘looked after’ continuously for six months. Approximately 15% of students at Wolgarston are on this register. The funding is designed to support the attainment and provide direct support of our most vulnerable students.
Wolgarston is committed to use the Pupil Premium funding to ‘Narrow the Gap’ ensuring that all students achieve, as a minimum, their expected progress whether they are Pupil Premium or not, with every effort being made to enable all students to exceed their expected progress and reach their full potential.
With focus on our three academic priorities of:
• Attendance, Inclusion and Aspiration
along with the other support Pupil Premium allows us to provide such as:
• School uniform
• School equipment
• Educational trips
• Opportunity for different types of enrichment experience
