This is a truly exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join the Penk Valley Federation. We seek candidates who are excited by food and the opportunity to make lunchtimes exceptional for all our pupils.

Main duties will include:

  • Food preparation as directed by the Catering Manager
  • Service at lunch time
  • Washing up and general cleaning within kitchen and server areas
  • Assisting the Catering Manager and Assistant Cook as required within the needs of the Federation
  • Stock checks

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A passion for working alongside and supporting children
  • A commitment to teamwork and partnership
  • Catering experience preferable although food hygiene/safety training provided along with allergy awareness.

We are looking for a dynamic and talented Catering Co-ordinator to oversee and expand our already successful in-house catering services across the federation. This post is a part time (20 hours), term time, permanent contract.

As our Catering Co-ordinator you will have the flexibility and means to travel across sites, you will have a passion for fresh food, an eye for detail and a firm but fair management style. Strong craft skills are essential. Ideally you will have relative background experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all operations, line management of staff across different sites, manage and deliver an excellent catering service throughout the federation ensuring the team provide great food and excellent customer service.

You must have a flexible approach to working practices enabling you to work some evenings.

We are currently recruiting a friendly and hardworking site technician (with driving) to work 25 hours a week on a permanent basis. You must be a self-motivated individual with good “handy person skills”, as well as the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people such as parents, teachers, contractors and the general public. Some experience of driving a delivery van/transit along with some basic DIY skills is desirable. The selection process will include both a manual handling and driving assessments.

You must have a flexible approach to working practices enabling you to work evenings, weekends and the ability to travel across sites as required. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • The security of the PVF premises and its contents, including the operation of fire and security systems and key holding responsibilities. This will involve patrolling all areas of the premises and playgrounds
  • The lighting and heating within the premises, including maintenance and operation of heating plant where required, replacing light bulbs and tubes etc.
  • Handyperson duties including carrying out minor repairs. In winter, the gritting and clearing of paths and steps to ensure general safety around the school grounds
  • Undertaking initial checks or inspections and identifying major repair works required and reporting these to the site manager
  • Drive the school minibus and trailer as and when required
